The Norfolk Island Regional Council holds its Ordinary Meeting on the first Wednesday of each calendar month, with two exceptions; there are no meetings in January, and in June the meeting is held on the 4th Wednesday. Council meetings are normally held at the Council Chambers located at the Bi-Centennial Complex on Taylors Road, however in the interim period whilst the Complex is being refurbished, they are now held at the adjacent Supper Room and commence at 2.00pm.
Council meetings are open to the public except in the situation where the Council decides to close a meeting to discuss restricted and/or confidential matters.
On occasion the General Manager may call an Extraordinary meeting of Council to discuss a specific matter.
Council meetings are governed by a Code of Meeting Practice.
Prior to each Council meeting, an agenda detailing items to be discussed is published to Council's website. These documents can be viewed online; please refer to the link at the bottom of this page. A hard copy of these documents is also available at the Customer Care offices located in the Telecom building, 9 New Cascade Road, or at the Public Library.
