Tourism Advisory Committee

The Tourism Advisory Committee's primary role is to advise and make recommendations to the Norfolk Island Regional Council on tourism strategy as well as to provide advice to Council and support the efforts and direction of tourism to Norfolk Island, both in the immediate and long term.

The advisory committees role includes reaching an agreement and providing a recommendation to Council on a diversified vision for Norfolk Island tourism through the “ground truthing” of the Tourism Strategic Plan 2013 - 2023, and to support and assist with the implementation of the agreed vison and strategic actions, once adopted by Council.

The committee consists of a maximum of eight voting members, including:

  • The Mayor
  • One Councillor
  • One representative from the Administrator's office
  • One representative from the Chamber of Commerce
  • One representative from the ATA
  • Two repesentatives from other tourism operations
  • One community member
The Committee meets on a monthly basis on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm.
 
When positions become available on Council advisory committees, an advert calling for expressions of interest is placed in the local newspaper.
