And Norfolk Island is one of its proud Members ............

Proud to be a member since 1979 when the Island again embarked upon the road to internal self-government.

Proud to participate in its many regional and international activities.

Proud to join other Members of Commonwealth Parliaments ... our brothers and sisters across the Commonwealth ... to foster and encourage understanding and co-operation amongst us. They say we number over 14,000 Members in all.

Proud to be chosen to send its youth to represent our Island at Westminster Abbey on Commonwealth Day.

Proud to be sponsored by international airlines to send our youth to represent our Island at the Youth Parliaments which are jointly hosted by the United Kingdom CPA Branch and the CPA.

Proud that our Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Hon David E. Buffett AM MLA,  represented our Island as a Regional Representative of the Australian Region where our Island has been positioned.

Proud to nominate delegates to attend CPA regional and international Conferences and Seminars.

Proud that our Speaker of the Legislative Assembly was able to help the CPA by visiting St. Helena to review its Constitution as part of a two man team.

Proud to co-host with the Western Australia Branch the 1986 Annual Seminar.

Proud to host the prestigious mid-year meeting of the CPA Executive Committee in 1994. They came from all the CPA Regions, from far off shores they visited our Island, representatives from Africa; Asia; Australia; British Islands and the Mediterranean; Canada; the Caribbean; the Americas and the Atlantic; the Pacific and South-East Asia...

Proud to wave the Norfolk Island flag with the CPA flag whenever we can.

Proud to welcome to our shores distinguished VIPS from CPA.  A long line of them have come ... the most recent from Tanzania, the Chairman of the CPA, the Hon. Pius Msekwa MP.

Proud to be recognised in our own right at the CPA General Assembly.

Proud to exercise our democratic vote when called upon by the CPA to do so.

And now Norfolk Island would like to thank CPA for extending hands
of friendship, bridging the waters to our tiny little Island
in the South Pacific Ocean.
