Finance Team

The finance department is a small team responsible for maintaining the effective daily financial operations of the Norfolk Island Regional Council including the:

  • Invoicing and collection of all monies owing to Council for the provision of goods and services
  • Debt recovery for overdue invoices
  • Receipting of monies and bank reconciliations
  • Payment of all creditors in accordance with the procurement policy and related procedures
  • Preparation and payment of payroll for Council employees and employees covered under the Commonwealth service agreement
  • Preparation and the reporting of annual financial budgets
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Investment of Council funds
  • Preparation and maintenance of Long Term Financial Plans
  • Maintenance of the financial asset register

The finance team also:

  • Assists in the decision making process of Council in the field of finance
  • Seeks and makes application for grant funding opportunities
  • Liaises with community organisations when grants applicable to them become available
