It is a pleasure to announce that the 2018-19 round of the Community Grants Program offered by the Norfolk Island Regional Council. The program will open for applications from Monday 23 July 2018. Applications close at 4:00pm on 31 August 2018, and they need to be lodged by that deadline to be considered.
Council recognises the valuable contribution individuals and community groups make to the enhancement, enrichment and liveability of Norfolk Island. We are committed to supporting initiatives that improve access and participation across the broad sphere of community interest, to assist activities that advance the objectives of the Community Strategic Plan Our Plan for the Future 2016-2026.
Funding provided under the Community Grants Program need to align with one or more of the strategic directions (SD) in the Community Strategic Plan 2016-2026 which are:
SD1 - AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY
SD2 – A PROUD, DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
SD3 – A CARING COMMUNITY
SD4 – A SUCCESSFUL AND INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY
SD5 – AN INFORMED AND ACCOUNTABLE COMMUNITY
SD6 – A HEALTHY AND SAFE COMMUNITY
Last year, (2017-18) the Community Grants Program was awarded to assist professional development of childcare providers; contributions to important community activities, events and celebrations; equipment and facilities upgrades for community organisations; caring for our environment; and funding to assist youth sport programs. Recipients are commended for your community efforts.
To make an application under the current Round of the Community Grants Program:
- Download the Community Grants Program Guidelines from www.norfolkisland.gov.nf/council/grants-program and read them carefully.
- Complete the application form online at www.norfolkisland.gov.nf/council/grants-program. The application form and supporting documentation must be lodged by 4:00pm, 24 August 2018.
